  • Please Welcome to the State 4-H Office:

    Whitney Bell, Program Assistant
I was raised in Southern California, and prior to my work at 4-H YDP, I utilized my BA in Communications as the Communications Coordinator for a non-profit Humane Society & SPCA in Southern CA. I am also a credential teacher, and most recently taught 2nd grade, but have taught and worked with K-12 grades.
My background in 4-H: I was a volunteer puppy raiser for two successful working Guide Dogs for the Blind. Both dogs were female yellow Labradors. I hope to continue my work and serve as a volunteer for more successful Guide Dogs in the future here in the Northern California area.
Miscellaneous: I grew up surrounded by animals and agriculture; riding Appaloosas (English and Western) since I was 6 and harvesting avocados in our family groves.

  • Pam Thomas, Management Services Officer

I retired in October 2006 from UC ANR North Coast & Mountain Region after 22 years of service. I moved on to be a full-time Realtor in Vacaville, where I live with my husband and 10-year-old daughter. Due to unforeseen circumstances with the current state of the real estate market, I made the decision to return to UC when the opportunity arose at the State 4-H Office.

I grew up in the 4-H program in Solano and Yolo Counties, then moved to the University of Nevada, Reno and worked for the State 4-H Leader there in the early 70’s. It’s a terrific program, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be here. I had truly missed the camaraderie of our ANR family, and I’ve enjoying coming back.
