Sectional 4-H Youth ConferencesEach of the four sections of California has an annual teen conference. These conferences have fun recreation and social activities to allow 4-H members to network with those outside their region, while also engaging in many learning opportunities and workshops on topics such as leadership, public speaking, citizenship, and more. Sponsored by the Sectional 4-H Leaders' Council of the respective Section North: Why Help Youth (WHY)For counties: Butte, Glenn, Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Lake, Colusa, Sutter-Yuba, Placer, Nevada, Plumas-Sierra, Lassen, Tehama, Trinity, Shasta, Modoc, Siskiyou, Inyo-Mono. No conference will be held in 2008. North Central: Creating a Leader (CAL)For counties: Sonoma, Marin, San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, Napa, Yolo, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Calaveras, Amador, El Dorado. 19th annual C.A.L. Conference Introduction Letter to County 4-H Staff (Word) (PDF) C.A.L. is a sectional 4-H event and members from all North Central Section counties are encouraged to attend. Participants share their knowledge, exchange ideas and information, and have the chance to develop and enhance their leadership skills. Each attendee is expected to participate fully.
