4-H State Ambassador Program

Application Deadline: March 31. Term: 14-months, July to August
Minimum Age: 16 years old, Travel and other costs covered.
  • Plan the 4-H State Leadership Conference
  • Complete a statewide Service Project
  • Represent 4-H Youth Development to other organizations.

California 4-H Computer Corps

Application Deadline: September 30. Term: 12-months, January to December
Minimum Age: 15 years old, Travel and other costs covered
  • Keep statewide 4-H website (ca4h.org) updated
  • Train members and leaders in the use of technology
  • Create other ways to integrate technology into projects and clubs.

National 4-H Conference: California Delegation

March 25 - 31, 2006; Washington D.C.
Application Deadline: September 30.
Minimum Age: 15 years old, Travel and other costs covered
  • The conference focuses on creating recommendations to help improve the National 4-H Program.
  • Delegates network with 4-H members and volunteers from across the country.

Statewide 4-H Advisory Committees

Application Deadline: June 30. Term: One year (optional second year), July to June
Minimum Age: 14 years old, Travel costs covered
Five Advisory Committees to choose from:
  • Program Advisory committee prepare recommendations on 4-H issues for the State 4-H Director.
  • Policy Advisory committee examines policy issues to determine if new or revised policies are needed.
  • The Incentives and Recognition Advisory Committee discusses recognition topics related to the 4-H YDP.
  • Citizenship/Service-Learning Advisory Council assists county citizenship programs, supports the citizenship study/travel program, and shares service learning principals with 4-Hers statewide.
  • Curriculum Advisory committee identifies curriculum needs and existing curriculum to fulfill those needs.
  • International Exchange Advisory Committee assists with development and expansion of the international exchange opportunities in California.
  • Equine Education Advisory Committee Committee assists with development and expansion of the equine opportunities in California.

Collegiate 4-H

California Collegiate 4-H is a young 4-H Volunteer program of the California 4-H Youth Development Program open to college students at any college. Collegiate 4-Hers have the opportunity to give back to the 4-H program.  The California Collegiate 4-H Handbook provides details and advice on starting a collegiate 4-H club at your school.
